Welcome to German Studies at Wayne State University

Studying German not only will enhance your educational experience at at Wayne State University, it will enrich your life and prepare you with marketable skills and experiences to compete for career opportunities in today's global economy.

Small classes with award-winning professors who are dedicated to your success, will help you appreciate the many dimensions of Germany's cultural, literary, historical and  artistic traditions.

You will have the time of your life studying in Germany with Wayne State's Junior Year in Munich – the oldest study abroad program in Germany!

Students who majored in German at WSU have found careers in art, design, education, law, finance, journalism, human resource management, manufacturing, global supply chain management, and more. Many alumni have been hired by German companies in the metro-Detroit region, or live and work in Germany today.

Even students who did not major in German, but who simply took enough coursework in German language to participate in the Junior Year in Munich program, have been able to find employment with international firms because of the German language skills and overseas experience they acquired through the WSU German program.

We invite you to join us (and you'll be glad you did!)
