Undergraduate Program

Film Studies through the Department of English at Wayne State University gives students the opportunity to major or minor in film at the undergraduate level (BA in Film Studies). The Film Studies program offers the annual Turner Scholarship, a competitive scholarship for students majoring in film studies. It also offers annual speakers in film and media studies as part of the DeRoy Lecture series and the Turner Lecture.

French New Wave; Loony Toons and Cwazy Wabbbits; A History of Classical Animation; The Films of Alfred  Hitchcock, Crime Films; The War Film, The Epic Film, The Comedy Film, Films of the Thirties; History on Film, Film Historiography; Feminist Film Theory; Media and Modern Culture; History of Film I, II and III; Eastern European Film.
